Range Master Class

All members are required to take a Range Master orientation course before using our range without supervision by a Range Master. The class is given on the last Saturday of every odd numbered month and is scheduled to run from 9 AM to 12 PM, but normally only runs a couple of hours. Classes begin at 9:00 am at the Clubhouse main hall room.  If appropriate social distancing space is not available due to number of folks attending the class, we will relocate class up to the wickiup/pavilion by the pond.  So, if you see a lot of cars & no people in the Clubhouse, check the pond area!!

This class is to familiarize all Club members (ONLY CLUB MEMBERS) on the Range Rules & Etiquette specific to our range and the available equipment for use on our range.  This is not a general firearms safety or usage class.  For Basic Firearms Instruction, see the “Firearms Instruction” page of this website, under “Classes”

To reserve a spot in any of the upcoming Range Master Classes, send an email to vscinfo47@gmail.com, no later than the Thursday prior to any given scheduled class.  There are no walk-in spots available for the classes.

Again, the Range Master class is MANDATORY.  Your level of experience does not matter in regard to this class.  This is not a “general firearms” class, it is a class to teach members the rules and practices specific to our range.  Shooting since you were knee high to a gopher hasn’t taught you the requisite rules and practices followed on our range.  Having to take this class in no way is being condescending with regards to your skill level, we just need to ensure all members are using the range in a consistent and SAFE manner.

Members who have not yet completed the course can only use the range under the direct supervision of a Range Master class graduate.  Range Master Class graduates can be identified by having an “RM” sticker on their membership badge, which is required to be worn at all times on the range.
